RADIOLOGIC SCIENCES AND IMAGING
Bachelor of Science in Health Professions - Advanced Imaging
Advanced imaging is a specialized field in radiologic technology that includes computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), vascular interventional technology (VIT), and cardiovascular interventional technology (CIT).
Students pursuing the BS in Health Professions degree in the RSI department at Kettering College may choose one of two tracks:
Advanced imaging track: The registered or registry-eligible technologist will begin with one year (two semesters) in the advanced imaging technologies of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or vascular interventional
technology (VIT) and cardiovascular interventional technology (CIT). The traditional method of receiving education and experience in this group is by registration in CT and MRI semesters or VIT and CIT semesters. It is possible to create nontraditional pairings of these programs, but this will require the student to submit a proposal and rationale for approval. The student must complete all core requirements in the arts and sciences and health professions courses to meet the requirements for the BS degree.
Health care professional studies track: A course of study in arts and sciences and health professions that will complete the BS degree requirements but without the advanced imaging courses. See the degree requirements section of the Academic Bulletin
for more information.
APPROVAL AND ACCREDITATION
