from the Respiratory Care Program
Kettering, Ohio (July 9) The Department of Respiratory Care at Kettering College of
Medical Arts will conduct an open house on Tuesday, July 13, from 4-7 p.m. in the main
lobby of the school. The event is free and open to the public.
During the open house, prospective students can learn about admission
and program requirements, financial aid opportunities, and the extensive
employment prospects available to graduates. There will be equipment
and treatment demonstrations, as well as tours of Kettering College
and the cardiopulmonary services department at Kettering Memorial
Hospital.
Prospective students will have the opportunity to apply during
the open house for fall 2004 admission to the respiratory care program.
The standard application fee will be waived for anyone applying
during the event.
Respiratory care is a fast-paced, highly technical, clinical profession that combines
diagnostic testing with direct patient care.
Respiratory therapists are essential to the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering
from cardiopulmonary disease, such as asthma,
emphysema, and pneumonia. Bureau of Labor statistics indicate that there will be a 35
percent growth in the need for respiratory therapists
by 2012, and the average salary for a respiratory therapist in the United States is $40,000.
