KCMA's Extension Division Earns Recognition for Skills-Improvement Opportunities
Kettering College of Medical Arts' Extension Divison and director Rick
Williams have been given a GRIMMY Award for Outstanding Workplace 2004.
Through the collaboration of KCMA, Kettering Medical Center, and the Miami
Valley Career Technology Center, a class in reading skills improvement was
created for employees. Over a six-week period, all of the employee/students
increased their reading abilities by a minimum of at least one grade level,
and as a result of their success, they will be able to continue pursuing
work-related training. GRIMMY Awards are presented annually by Project READ
to individuals, businesses, and organizations that make a difference in
literacy in the Dayton area.
