Blood Pressure Screenings
KETTERING, OHIO (Oct. 4, 2004) — In conjunction with National Physician
Assistant Week, physician assistant (PA) students from Kettering
College of Medical Arts will conduct blood pressure screenings on
Wednesday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in the main common area of
Kettering Towne Center. The event is free and open to the public.
The American Academy of Physician Assistants is celebrating PA
Week from Oct. 6-12, in honor of the graduation of the first physician
assistants from Duke University on Oct. 6, 1967. Kettering College
graduated its initial class of physician assistants in 1975.
With a total of 19 programs in health science education, Kettering
College offers both a four-year bachelor program in physician assistant
and a two-year certificate program for students who already have
a bachelor degree. KCMA is one of just five schools in the state
of Ohio that offer an accredited physician assistant program, and
it is the only school in southwest Ohio to provide the course of
study.
