Vaughan-Beaven Service Learning Honors Program

Service learning combines community service with academic learning objectives, preparation and intellectual reflection.  Kettering College creates opportunities for service learning in the Vaughan-Beaven Service Learning Honors Program (SLHP), as well as throughout our entire curriculum.

SLHP students take specially designed courses that will prepare them to assess needs in a community, learn how to meet those needs, and understand and evaluate challenges and success during and after their experience.  Kettering College provides many off-campus and extracurricular opportunities – locally and internationally – for students to meet the health care service needs of a variety of communities.

In order to be considered for admission, prospective scholars must have a 3.0 GPA and have already completed 100 hours of service.  They also must write an essay indicating how their goals relate to excellence and service.  For more information about applying to or participating in this program, contact Richard Williams at (937) 298-3399 ext. 57014 or via e-mail at rick.williams@kcma.edu.
