Departmental Orientation for All Students in Clinical Programs
Click here for departmental orientation schedule

All new and returning students who are enrolled in clinical programs are required to attend departmental orientation on Friday, Aug. 22. Students enrolled in BSHP completion or BSN programs, the human biology program, and students taking only arts and sciences courses are not required to attend departmental orientation.

Refer to the departmental orientation schedule [link to corresponding page] page for the times you will need to be present. For specific questions about your schedule, please contact your department. Departmental orientation day contains important preparation for the new academic year and is not optional.

Some professional programs, such as nursing, physician assistant, and radiologic sciences and imaging have requirements for CPR certification prior to patient contact. It will be important to bring your CPR card to show to the department during the departmental orientation. (Please note: CPR classes will be offered to respiratory care and medical sonography students during introductory labs, so it is not necessary to complete CPR certification prior to program entry.) Please review the program section in the Academic Bulletin for details or consult with the department.

Completing all necessary immunizations prior to clinical experience is expected. Help ease your schedule by completing these immunizations before enrollment. If you have questions about immunizations, please contact the admissions office.
