RADIOLOGIC SCIENCES AND IMAGING
Advanced Imaging Certificate in Cardiovascular Interventional
Technology (CIT)
Lend a hand, save a life
Advanced imaging technology, of which cardiovascular interventional technology is a part, allows registered radiologic technologists in the radiography field to operate advanced imaging equipment that obtain still and moving pictures of various vascular structures within the human body that aid the physician in the diagnosis or treatment of many diseases or injuries. ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Students entering Kettering College as graduates of either an associate’s degree or certificate program in radiologic technology may continue their education with several certificate programs. Certificate programs in CT, MRI, vascular interventional technology, or cardiovascular interventional technology are offered as one-semester courses of study. These may be taken individually or as paired programs that may lead to the BS degree. For more information, see the BS in Health Professions, advanced imaging track, section of this web site.
All advanced imaging programs require practicum experience in the semester in which the clinical aspects courses are taught. Each student will be evaluated on classroom and practicum experiences. Due to the one- semester format, students may be qualified for employment in their chosen modality but not fully qualified for ARRT advanced imaging certification. |
