RADIOLOGIC SCIENCES AND IMAGING
Certificate Programs in advanced imaging

Lend a hand, save a life

Advanced imaging is a specialized field in radiologic technology that includes computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), vascular interventional technology (VIT), and cardiovascular interventional technology (CIT).

The RSI department offers the following programs in advanced imaging:

MISSION STATEMENT
As an integral part of the allied health care profession and a division of Kettering College of Medical Arts, the radiologic sciences and imaging department is dedicated to educating students who are committed to becoming caring, competent, and professional imaging specialists. It is our commitment, through accredited student education, to provide the health care community with imaging specialists who are skilled professionals, serving human needs in the Christian context.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
Students entering KCMA as graduates of either an associate’s degree or certificate program in radiologic technology may continue their education with several certificate programs. Certificate programs in CT, MRI, vascular interventional technology, or cardiovascular interventional technology are offered as one-semester courses of study. These may be taken individually or as paired programs that may lead to the BS degree. For more information, see the section of the Academic Bulletin that addresses the BS in Health Professions, advanced imaging track.

All advanced imaging programs require practicum experience in the semester in which the clinical aspects courses are taught. Each student will be evaluated on classroom and practicum experiences. Due to the one- semester format, students may be qualified for employment in their chosen modality but not fully qualified for ARRT advanced imaging certification.

ACCREDITATION
Kettering College of Medical Arts is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, approved by the Seventh-day Adventist Board of Regents and authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents.
