RADIOLOGIC SCIENCES AND IMAGING
Baccalaureate Program in Advanced Imaging

Lend a hand, save a life

THE CAREER
Advanced imaging is a specialized field in radiologic technology that includes computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), vascular interventional technology (VIT), and cardiovascular interventional technology (CIT).

MISSION
As an integral part of the allied health care profession and a division of Kettering College of Medical Arts, the radiologic sciences and imaging department is dedicated to educating students who are committed to becoming caring, competent, and professional imaging specialists. It is our commitment, through accredited student education, to provide the health care community with imaging specialists who are skilled professionals, serving human needs in the Christian context.

BACCALAUREATE PROGRAM
Students pursuing the BS in Health Professions degree in the RSI department may choose one of two tracks:

Advanced imaging track: The registered or registry-eligible technologist will begin with one year (two semesters) in the advanced imaging technologies of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or vascular interventional technology (VIT) and cardiovascular interventional technology (CIT). The traditional method of receiving education and experience in this group is by registration in CT and MRI semesters or VIT and CIT semesters. It is possible to create nontraditional pairings of these programs, but this will require the student to submit a proposal and rationale for approval. The student must complete all core requirements in the arts and sciences and health professions courses to meet the requirements for the BS degree. (See the advanced imaging track description at in the Academic Bulletin).

Health care professional studies track: A course of study in arts and sciences and health professions that will complete the BS degree requirements but without the advanced imaging courses. See the degree requirements section of the Academic Bulletin for more information.

ACCREDITATION
Kettering College of Medical Arts is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Ohio Board of Regents.
