One-Year General Studies Track

A strong foundation opens
doors of opportunity

SOLID GROUND
As an integral part of Kettering College of Medical Arts, the faculty of the Division of Arts and Sciences is dedicated to assisting students in constructing a strong spiritual, philosophical, and academic foundation based on Christian principles on which to build personal and professional study and growth.

EXPLORATIVE EDUCATION
The courses in the Division of Arts and Sciences meet two distinct needs. One is to provide a liberal arts background on which to build technical information leading toward the Associate of Science degree in a health care field at Kettering College of Medical Arts. This background enables the graduate to continue study for higher degrees. The other is to provide an academic foundation for those who desire a degree in general studies at KCMA and plan to continue their studies in the liberal arts.

LEADING SUCCESS
The faculty strive to help students achieve the institutional core competencies of Christian perspective, ethical behavior, service, adaptability, critical thinking, information literacy, leadership, learning, professionalism, citizenship, teamwork, communication, and relationship building through a variety of courses and learning activities.

ABOUT THIS TRACK
This course of study is designed for students who would like to take one year of arts and sciences courses and then transfer to another institution for degrees that KCMA doesn’t offer. Most of the courses suggested in the track are typical first-year courses for college degrees and are generally transferable.

ACCREDITATION
Kettering College of Medical Arts is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Its offerings are approved by the Seventh-day Adventist Board of Regents. Its degrees are authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents, and its academic credits are acceptable for transfer to other colleges and universities.
