Caregiver Workshop for the Nonprofessional
Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6-8:30 p.m. for 3 weeks (6 sessions)
Cost of workshop: $25
Cost of textbook: $25
(Quick Tips for Caregivers textbook recommended but not required)

A hands-on workshop for those who will be caring for their family member upon discharge from the hospital or extended are facility. Contact the Extension Division at (937) 298-3399 ext. 55636 for scheduling.

EXDV 060 – Nursing Assistant
(hospital acute-care setting)
3 credit hours
Monday and Wednesday evenings, 4-8 p.m.
offered fall and winter semesters

Basic education and training for those entering Kettering College’s nursing program. The focus is on positive interactions between patients and health care workers, basic patient observation, provision of care necessary for activities of daily living, reporting and documentation. The course consists of 116 contact hours — 62 didactic (classroom) hours, 10 hours in the nursing skills lab, and 44 hours of hospital clinical experience.

Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

HEPR 360 – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
1 credit hour
Offered fall and winter semester

Introduction to Phlebotomy
3 hours
Tuesday evenings, 6:30-9:30 p.m. for eight weeks

** PLEASE NOTE – Phlebotomy classes currently are filled until approximately September 2008, but spots may become available on the wait list. Contact the Extension Division at (937) 298-3399 ext. 55636 for more information.

Offered four times a year, the course is designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of phlebotomy and EKG technology, through a combination of classroom and clinical experience.
